Hello world!

I couldn’t have said it better myself-HELLO WORLD!!!!  I have entered the world of blogging.  I am thrilled, excited and scared to death. I know next to nothing about blogging.  So, here goes…….

So why a blog called The World Keeps Spinning….????  About 15 years ago I had an aha!!!! moment.  It was after I had spent 67 days in the hospital following a very traumatic, life-altering motorcycle accident.  My husband and I were hit by a drunk driver and we nearly lost our lives.  After 67 days in the hospital, multiple surgeries, and 3 room changes, I was finally getting out.  I was driving home with my mother-in-law, not to MY home because we lost it in foreclosure, while I was in the hospital, due to the accident and other circumstances, but to my mother-in-law’s home and on the way I saw some construction going on.  Now, normally, I would have ignored it and gone on down the road without a second glance.  On that day I was indignant, I was mortified, what I said to myself and wanted to say to them, was “Don’t they know what I have been through in the last 2 months???!!!!??? How could they just go on with life???  If they just knew what I had been through they would be waving their hats at me and jumping for joy that I made it out of the hospital.”  And it was at that moment that everything hit me, my life was changed and would never be the same.  The judge who sentenced the man who hit my husband and me said it best:  He said to the man “You have taken away the life these people will never have.”

In almost the next instant I felt God speak to me and He said “The world keeps spinning and life goes on”.  And that is the lesson that has followed me from that day to this.  No matter the trial or tribulation that I go through there are so many in worse shape and the world keeps spinning and life goes on.  One thing that the accident did for me was slow me down.  I now recognize that everyone has a story, a trial, an incident that is life changing.  Through hanging on to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I have also realized that there is no trial, tribulation, incident that He hasn’t thought of:

Rom 5:1-8 KJV – Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

He teaches us to use those trials to develop patience -experience-hope- to see the love of God for us and for others.

You are loved by a big GOD and He wants you to LOVE HIM and LOVE OTHERS through HIM.
May you be blessed on this big ‘ole world that God keeps spinning.
